Geneva C. Harry, age 89, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Green Acres near Mt. Pleasant.  Geneva was born on August 31, 1925 in Bridgeport, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Nola Cunningham.  On July 21, 1945, she married Ellis LeRoy Harry in Mt. Pleasant.  Ellis preceded her in death on May 17, 1978.

     Geneva was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and went on to further her education at the Beauty College.  She taught at the Beauty College for over ten years.  After she retired, she worked in the catalog department at JC Penny’s for several years.  She was a former member of the Women of the Moose and was active with the cosmetology industry, attending several big conventions and conferences.  Geneva was a resident of the area most of her life.

     Geneva is survived by her two children, Charles LeRoy and Patricia Harry of Amesbury, Massachusetts and Cathy Lenore and Charles LeRoy Suhr of Nebraska City, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Nicole Harry, Rebecca Stagray, Blair Ellis Dell, Julie Laity and Charles Benjamin Suhr along with eight great grandchildren.  Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, a granddaughter Catherine Dell and twelve brothers and sisters.

     Memorial services for Geneva will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Rowley Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.  Friends will gather with the family from 1:00 p.m. until service time.  Interment of the cremated remains will follow in Riverside Cemetery.   Friends wishing to remember Geneva with a memorial contribution have been asked to consider Green Acres or Woodland Hospice.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
